Overview

The Sundarbans a UNESCO World Heritage Site is located at the South eastern tip of the 24 Paraganas district about 110 km from Kolkata. It got its name from one of the mangrove plants known as Sundari (Heritiera Minor). Sundarbans are a part of the world's largest delta, formed by the mighty rivers Ganga, Brahmaputra and Meghna. Situated on the lower end of Gangetic West Bengal, the Sundarbans is criss-crossed by hundreds of creeks and tributaries. It is one of the most attractive and alluring places remaining on earth, a truly undiscovered paradise. The Sundarbans is the largest single block of tidal, halophytic mangrove forests in the world. The name can be literally translated as beautiful jungle. The name may have been derived from the Sundari trees that are found in the Sundarbans. . It spans a vast area covering 4264 sq. km in India alone. It is the largest Tiger Reserve and National Park.

Detail itinerary

Day 1 KOLKATA TO SUNDERBAN

  • 11.30 A.M.: Arrival at Gothkhali (Here the road journey ends and the cruise to beautiful Sunderban begins).
  • 11.45 A.M.: Departure by Boat for Dayapur. Welcome drink is served enroute followed by tea and coffee.
  • 1.30-1.45 P.M.: Arrival at Sunderban Tiger Camp, Dayapur (The resort is located right opposite the Sunderban Tiger Reserve Forest separated just by River Pitchkhali).
  • 2.00 P.M.: Lunch.
  • 3.30 P.M.: Departure by boat for Sajnekhali Tiger Project Area for viewing Wild life, Sajnekhali Museum, Mangrove Interpretation Centre & Watch Tower.
  • 5.30 P.M.: Return to Sunderban Tiger Camp.
  • 6.00 P.M.: Evening Tea/Coffee with Snacks. Enjoy the View from Watch Tower. Evening Get-Together. Folk Dance by Local Artists/ Wild Life Movie and Bonfire (during winter season only).
  • 8.00 P.M.: Dinner.

Day 2 SUNDERBAN (SIGHTSEEING)

  • 6:00 A.M: Morning Tea.
  • 6.30 A.M.: A thrilling Boat Cruise inside creeks and dense forest (breakfast on boat during cruise) through numerous rivers while visiting Dobanke Watch Tower where the canopy walks inside the forest (experience the life in which caged animals live in, while getting an all-around view of the forest). Also visit the Spotted Deer Rehabilitation Centre. After which we cruise through Matla – Sea Face (the point from where Bay of Bengal can be seen) –Cruising back through the 5-river junction - to Pitchkhali.
  • 1:30 P.M.: Lunch.
  • 3.30 P.M.: Promenade around the Neighboring villages to interact with the Local Community at a typical Sunderban settlement to understand their local Art, Culture and Way of Life (how man and tiger coexist in such a difficult terrain.) In simple words a “Rendezvous with the Rural Bengal.”
  • 5:30 P.M.: Evening Tea / Coffee with Snacks, followed by a Folk Dance by Local Artists/Wildlife Movie. 8:00 P.M.: Dinner.

Day 3 SUNDERBAN – KOLKATA

  • 6.00 A.M.: Morning Tea.
  • 6.30 A.M.: Visit to Sudhanyakhali Watch Tower and Cruise through Rivers and Creeks of Pitchkhali- SarakhkhaliSudhanokhali- Bonobibi Dharani and visit the Watch- Tower followed by a cruise around the Islands of the Sunderban Tiger Project Area (Breakfast on Boat during Cruise).
  • 9:45 A.M.: Return to Sunderban Tiger Camp.
  • 11:00 A.M.: Lunch and checkout.
  • 11:30 P.M.: Departure for Gothkhali by Boat.
  • 1:30 P.M.: Arrival at Gothkhali.
  • 2:00 P.M.: Departure for Kolkata.
  • Departure timings for the park may change due to summer and winter season. The resort reception will inform you a day in advance for the cruise timings in the mornings.

  • Naturalist fee.
  • Anything not mentioned in the inclusions.
  • Gratuity.
  • Parking charges of Personal Vehicle at Gothkhali.

Terms & Conditions

  • We are Covid Safe Tour Operator and maintain all hygiene & safety guidelines
  • Rates are valid from 01 Oct- 15 Dec and 20 Jan- 31 March (Except New Year Xmas)
  • Confirmation will be subject to availability at the time of confirmation.
  • Rates can be changed if change in travel plan due to whatsoever the reason
  • We shall proceed with the holding/ confirmation after receiving 50?vance payment.
  • Cancellation after guarantee would attract cancellation charges, No Refund for Last minute cancellations/ unutilized services/ natural calamities/ flight cancellation or postpone/ No show. Important Notes
  • Tour program may be shuffled due to the inclement weather conditions and changes in
  • Flight/ Ferry operations, which may incur extra charges.
  • The vehicle used will be exclusive for guest but will not be at disposal. It will as per contract & will change every day and sector wise.
  • Cancellation after guarantee would attract cancellation charges, No Refund for Last minute cancellations/ unutilized services/ natural calamities/ flight cancellation or postpone/ No show.
  • Standard Check in/ Check Out time is 06:30am– 07:30am, early check in/ Late Check Out subject to availability and completely on hotel's discretion. All extras other than mentioned above are payable directly at hotel/ service provider.

 

Payments:

For the services contracted, 50 % advance payment should be made to hold the booking on a confirmed basis and the balance amount can be paid before 7 days your departure from your city in India but definitely before the commencement of the services. We hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as an advance payment, based on the nature of services and the time left for the commencement of the services.

Apart from the above in some cases like special train journeys, hotel or resort bookings during the peak season (Durga Puja, Diwali, X-Mas, New Year and any other festival) full payment is required to be sent in advance.

Mode of Payment:

Booking advance payment can be made through wire transfer to our bank or through Mail Authorization through Master/Visa credit card. Upon arrival in India, the payment can be made through currency notes or travelers cheque or through Master/Visa / American Express credit card. In case of payment through credit card, the bank charges-as applicable-would be levied over and above the total amount.

Policy Regarding Cancellation / No Show / Early Departure:

In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows: -

 

  • 45 days prior to arrival - 10% of the tour cost.
  • 45 days to 35 days prior to arrival - 30% of the tour cost.
  • 35 days to 25 days prior to arrival - 40 % of the tour cost.
  • 25 days to 15 days prior to arrival - 50% of the tour cost.
  • Less than 15 days or no show - NO REFUND.

 

In case of special train journey and peak season hotel bookings a separate cancellation policy is applicable (which would be advised as and when required).

In case you cancel the trip after commencement refund would be restricted to a limited amount that too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.

Uniworld Trip reserves the right to change/modify or terminate the offer any time at its own discretion and without any prior notice.

In case of unavailability in mentioned hotels, alternate accommodation will be arranged in a similar category hotel.

Refund:

In regard to refund of unused / unutilized services (which are paid for and cancelled in advance) the refund amount would be worked out on the basis of cancellation policy as described above and the money would be accordingly refunded to the person who has made the payment to us. Please note that the refund process may take 2 - 4 weeks due to banking procedures. If the refund is made to the credit card account OR to Bank account, the bank charges would be debited from the refund amount.

Our Liabilities & Limitations:                  

Please note that after the finalization of the tour/service cost, if there are any hikes in entrance fees of monuments/museums, taxes, fuel cost or guide charges by the Govt of India, the same would be charged as extra.

Uniworld Trip act only in the capacity of agent for the hotels, airlines, transporters, railways & contractors providing other services & all exchange orders, receipts, contracts & tickets issued by us are issued subject to terms & conditions under which these services are provided by them.

All itineraries are sample itineraries, intended to give you a general idea of the likely trip schedule. Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to change any schedule in the interest of the trip participants' safety, comfort & general well-being.

Our rates are based on the prevailing rates as negotiated by us with the hotels, airlines etc. Hotels and Airlines retain the right to modify the rates without notice. In case of such changes the rates quoted before the modification, can be changed by us according to the modifications by hotels or airlines. All hotel bookings are based on usual check in and check out time of the hotels until unless indicated in the itinerary.

We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred - directly or indirectly - due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipment’s, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.

We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting - directly or indirectly - from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.

We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggage's & personal property/s at all times are at the client's risk.
